We both agreed it&#8217;d be good to have a list, but have never got around to it. Here&#8217;s my attempt:<\/p>\n<h3>The basics<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Tent<\/li>\n<li>Trangia<\/li>\n<li>Trangia FUEL!<\/li>\n<li>Thermarest\/bed roll<\/li>\n<li>Sleeping bag<\/li>\n<li>Pack<\/li>\n<li>Day pack?<\/li>\n<li>Climbing gear (more later)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Depending on wetness\/coldness\/snow<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Gore Tex Jacket (always take this!)<\/li>\n<li>Gore Tex Pants<\/li>\n<li>2nd Bed roll for snow<\/li>\n<li>Sleeping bag liner (good when it&#8217;s hot too)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Depending on temperature (it&#8217;ll always be colder than you think)<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Medium Fleece<\/li>\n<li>Warm Fleece<\/li>\n<li>Down Jacket<\/li>\n<li>Thermals<\/li>\n<li>Beanie<\/li>\n<li>Fleece pants<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Misc Gear<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Head torch (spare batteries on long hikes)<\/li>\n<li>Space blanket<\/li>\n<li>Compass<\/li>\n<li>Mirror<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tom and I were saying on the phone last night that we never remember what to take on outdoor trips.
