I&#8217;ve heard of normal humans doing it in 15, and <em>someone<\/em> has done it in <strong>12<\/strong> apparently. Yowsers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update:<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/neuling.org\/mikey\/\">Mikey<\/a> reckons that going by <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Alpe_d%27Huez#Fastest_Alpe_d.27Huez_ascents\">his times up the Alp d&#8217;Huez<\/a>, Lance Armstrong would do it in 7 minutes, <strong>freakin!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Update:<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/svana.org\/sjh\/diary\/2006\/03\/14#2006-03-14_01\">Steve Hanley chimes in<\/a> with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cycle2max.com\/c2m\/climbs.nsf\/Vtrial\/95EC20CE38F8B0AC69256C38001DE49C?opendocument\">full story<\/a>. <strong>8:44<\/strong>, that sure gives me something to aim for.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update:<\/strong> Cool <a href=\"http:\/\/neuling.org\/mikey\/index.cgi\/misc\/Canberra-mountains.html\">comparison<\/a> of the various hills &#8217;round town by Mikey. <small>(This update brought to you by Tom)<\/small><\/p>\n<p>Mikey has <a href=\"http:\/\/neuling.org\/gps\/runs.cgi?BlackMountain\">gps data for the ride<\/a> which is kinda interesting, in particular the <a href=\"http:\/\/neuling.org\/gps\/BlackMountain-grade.png\">grade<\/a> is pretty solid.<\/p>\n<p>For the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fitter_Happier\">Radioheadly challenged<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rode up Black Mountain twice last week, great ride, tough on the way up and fast on the way down, especially cool coming down in the dark.
